Hello Grizzly Band Families!

 

Huge thank you to Grizzly Band students who volunteered to man the GP Band Booth at Student Startup last week and to the parents who supported them behind the scenes!

 

Things are starting to get busy with our first football game this Friday and school starting next week. Stay current with the GP Band Happenings by following the GPHS Band Boosters on Facebook and Instagram or visit grizzlyband.org.

 

KEY Details for this week:

We still need several dozen cookies for the pre-game dinner this Friday, September 1^st. Visit grizzlyband.org/volunteer to signup.  

 

Grizzly Band students are required to wear black socks and all black shoes with their Grizzly Band uniforms. 

 

Important upcoming DATES: 
Thursday, August 31^st  7-9pm  GP practice field
Rehearsal – Grizzly Band*

 

*Students should arrive at 6:45pm and be ready to begin 7pm. Attendance will be taken at the field.

 

Friday, September 1^st  3-10pm 
GP Football vs Snohomish – Grizzly Band
Students will meet at GPHS at 3pm and bus over to Snohomish HS for rehearsal with the SHS Band. Dinner will be provided by Band Boosters and families (from both schools) after rehearsal/before the game. Donation and volunteer needs are posted at grizzlyband.org/volunteer. See complete itinerary below. Black shoes and socks are required to be worn with the band uniform. Students will change into band uniforms at SHS after dinner/before game.

 

Itinerary:

3:00pm  Arrive at GPHS, attendance check-in, load busses and depart**

3:20 Arrive at Veterans Memorial Stadium

3:30 Music rehearsal with SHS Band

5:00 Dinner at SHS (Pizza, pop/water, cookies)

5:45 Change into uniforms

6:00 Pre-Game

7:00 Kick-off

~9:00 Game concludes, Post-Game

~9:30 exit Veterans Memorial Stadium, load busses and depart for GPHS**

~9:45 Arrive at GPHS, unload busses, hang uniform

• **Students will be responsible for bringing their hat boxes to and from SHS**
• Please arrive in in comfortable clothes that can be work under band uniform.
• Black socks & all black shoes required.
• Bring a water bottle. There will be a refill station.
• You may want to bring money for snacks during 3^rd Qtr break.

Friday, September 8^th  5-10pm 
GP Football vs Snohomish – Grizzly Band
Students will meet at GPHS at 5pm, change into uniforms, and bus over to Snohomish HS. Volunteer needs will be posted at grizzlyband.org/volunteer soon.

 

Tuesday, September 12th  7-9pm  GP Performing Arts Center 
GP Band Program ALL parent meeting 

 

 

BAND PHOTOS:
If you ordered an individual band photo of your student, you should have received an  email from our photographer, Jason Kim,  with instructions on how to view your student’s photos. In addition, all group photos are available HERE. These files are for you to download and keep. However, they will only be available for 3 months. If you have any questions about the photos, please email Jason directly at jasonjkimphotography@gmail.com.
