Hello Glacier Peak Band Families,
On Monday, the Band Boosters visited all band classes to announce our next fundraiser: Brown Bear Car Wash!
This fundraiser is the first chance of many that students will have to earn money for the Big Trip to Disneyland next year. For every car wash ticket a student sells, the Boosters will add $4.00 to the student’s fundraising allocation. That money can be used to pay for individual student band fees, including Grizzly Band, the annual class field trip fee, and the Big Trip.
Here’s a brief description of how this fundraiser works:
The Booster Club purchases Brown Bear Car Wash tickets at a massive discount directly from Brown Bear under the terms of their Charity Car Wash Program (https://brownbear.com/community-commitment/car-wash-fundraiser/). The students then sell those tickets at a $12.75, netting the Booster Club a profit. The Booster Club has agreed to allocate $4.00 to each student’s fundraising balance for every ticket they sell. The remaining profit goes into the Booster Club general fund, where it is used to cover the cost of supplemental band programs like section coaching, special performances (Dallas Brass!), and more.
In order for us to participate in the fundraising program, we have to follow a few rules. Every student was shown the rules, and they are included in the attached commitment that each student signed when they were issued their tickets.
Restrictions:
Charity Car Wash Program tickets may NOT be:
a. Sold within 500 feet of any Brown Bear Car Wash location;
b. Sold nor advertised online including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Craigslist, OfferUp, and eBay;
c. Used for personal use, donated, nor given away.
(Note: The spirit of the Program is to have participants, often young people, develop important salesmanship skills. If tickets are sold or advertised online, then that does not lend itself to having them build that skill set, hence our restrictions.)
We gave every participating student a copy of the attached “note card” to help them with the fundraising process, as well as car wash tickets so they could get started raising money.
