Hello Grizzly Band Families,
Day 3 of Band Camp definitely kept us on our toes! We started the morning with a surprise guest… rain! But no worries – we quickly adjusted, moved inside, and got everyone checked in and where they needed to be. It was a bit of a scramble, but your students were flexible, patient, and full of good energy.
A huge shoutout to all the families who have donated snacks – the kids were SO grateful! I heard so many compliments today about how much they appreciated the variety, how thoughtful the selections were, and how much it meant to them. We even had hot tea on hand, which was perfect for a few students (especially our drum major!) who were feeling the effects of all the vocal calls across camp.
We had planned to begin uniform alterations today, but unfortunately our wonderful seamstress was involved in a minor car accident on her way over. Thankfully, she’s okay, and one of our amazing volunteers was able to assist her. We hope she’ll be able to join us in the next day or two.
In the meantime, we made the most of our indoor day! We:
- Moved and organized all the hat boxes into the uniform room
- Cleaned and labeled our unused uniforms
- Prepped and tidied up the Parent Club closet
- Got our uniform racks all ready for the season
Tomorrow, we’ll begin concert dress fittings – another exciting step in getting performance-ready!
We’re making the most of every moment and staying focused so this season can be our best yet. We’re especially looking forward to Friday’s performance at 3PM – we hope to see you there!
Here's a few links:
- Get GP Band Spirit Wear – orders can be picked up in the band room (or at Streamline in Snohomish if you want it earlier)
- Support the Band Boosters by ordering from our Amazon Wish List
- Want to help out? There's still a need for volunteers – especially Friday
Thanks again for your continued support.
Go Grizzlies!
Warmly,
Michele Grant
