Monday Band Camp Recap – What a Day!

Hey Grizzly Band Families,

What a kickoff! Day 1 of Band Camp is in the books, and we’re off to a strong start.

Here’s what went down today:

  • 9 awesome volunteers kept things running smoothly – huge thanks!
  • Uniform fittings are rolling – about a third of students have been fitted so far. We’re calling students in groups throughout the week.
  • Marching practice? Tons. We’re working hard on straight lines and strong fundamentals.
  • Music has been distributed, and believe it or not – we played through ALL the songs!
  • This year’s band is 94 students strong – let’s go!

For tomorrow – Tuesday:

  • Be at the GP Football Field by 7:45AM – we start at 8:00 sharp. Skip the band room unless you need to grab your instrument.
  • If it rains, look for signs and head to the PAC (Performing Arts Center) instead.
  • Want to volunteer? We still have openings most of the week to jump in and help. Sign up here.
  • Uniform fittings continue – wear a t-shirt and shorts.
  • Bring a lunch and water bottle.
  • Dress for the weather – sunscreen, hat, closed-toe shoes. We’ll be outside most of the day.
  • And please – drop off POPSICLES in the band room freezer (right near the whiteboard). The kids will thank you.

Thanks again to everyone pitching in – we love seeing the energy and teamwork from students and families. Can’t wait for Day 2!

See you bright and early,

Michele Grant
