Welcome to Grizzly Band 2025! – Here’s what you need to know for Band Camp Week

Hello Grizzly Band Families!

Welcome to Grizzly Band Camp, kicking off tomorrow, Monday, August 4! We’re thrilled to get started and can’t wait to see returning faces and meet new members. This week is all about marching fundamentals, pep-band music and our half-time field show – plus plenty of chances to make friendships that’ll last far beyond high school.

We will be spending quite a bit of time outside. Please plan accordingly. On Monday we will meet in the Band Room which is accessed via the main GPHS front doors. The rest of the week, meet at the GP Football Field. Look for signs or check social media if rain forces us to change plans.

Uniforms fittings

Uniform fittings will happen during the first few days – please wear shorts and a T-shirt for quick and easy adjustments. On Friday morning, plan to change into your uniform in the Band Room before we head to the Commons for photos.
If your student is registered for a band class for school they will also have the option to be fitted for a required concert uniform dress (one of 2 options). More information about concert uniforms can be found on grizzlyband.org.

Friday Picture Day

Jason Kim Photography will take group and sectional photos. They will be made available online at no cost.

Earning a varsity letter in band

Participation in Grizzly Band is the way to earn a varsity letter in band! Each day you attend camp you earn points. A letter is awarded for students who earn at least 150 points.

We need YOUR help! – Volunteer for band camp
A BIG thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer and/or bring frozen treats this week during Grizzly Band Camp. We can’t do this without you. We still need more volunteers to help (and it’s a LOT of fun, too!). Sign up at grizzlyband.org/volunteer.

See you tomorrow – ready, set, march!
