The Glacier Peak High School Band program kicked off the new school year with an energetic All Parent Meeting on September 10, 2024. The meeting was a comprehensive introduction to the band program, covering everything from the various ensembles to the exciting Disneyland trip planned for Spring Break 2025.

1. Band Programs and Performances
- The GP Band offers a variety of programs including Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz bands, the Grizzly marching and pep band, and the Touring Ensemble.
- Each ensemble has multiple performances scheduled throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, and community events.
2. GP Band Booster Club
- Introduction to the Booster Club, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the band program.
- The club focuses on fundraising, providing opportunities for parental involvement, and encouraging community support.
3. Uniforms and Fees
- Detailed information on uniform requirements for each ensemble.
- Breakdown of fees for various band programs and optional activities.
- Times for dress fittings will be posted in Band Happenings next week.
4. Fundraising and Scholarships
- There’s several ways to help the GP Band programs through fundraising opportunities.
- Annual Wreath Fundraiser announced for October.
- Information on need-based scholarships and senior scholarships provided.
- Senior Scholarships are awarded at the end of the year. More details will be provided later.

6. Varsity Letter in Band
- Students can earn a varsity letter by participating in Grizzly Band and accumulating points through various activities.
7. Disneyland Trip 2025
- Exciting announcement of the Spring Break trip to Disneyland from April 7-11, 2025.
- Estimated cost of $1650 per student, with a payment plan available.
- Trip includes park passes, performances, and a workshop.

8. Volunteer Opportunities
- Various ways for parents to get involved, from chaperoning to selling concessions.
- Reminder for all volunteers to register with the Snohomish School District Safe Visitor system.
The meeting concluded with a lively Q&A session with Mr. Morris and members of the GP Band Booster board. With an exciting year ahead filled with performances, competitions, and a magical trip to Disneyland, the GP Band is poised for another memorable year!
